University Program

Where future designers bring ideas to life

Good design starts early, in dorm rooms, sketchbooks, and studio labs, long before it reaches a showroom. The ATYP University Program is an open door for students ready to turn an idea into a real, functional piece.

Who can join

Open to anyone serious about making

No grade requirement and no portfolio gate. What matters is an idea worth cutting steel for.

  • Students studying design, architecture, engineering, or arts at any university
  • Self-taught creatives with portfolio pieces and the will to build one for real
  • Final-year students working on thesis or capstone projects that deserve to exist

What you can do here

Five ways in.

  • Submit your design Got an idea for a shelf, a table, or something we have not built yet? Send it to us. If it has potential, we help you prototype it, refine it, and maybe launch it on atyp.store. You bring the idea. We help you build it.
  • Win awards and get hired Join our design challenges and competitions to win cash prizes, mentorship, and even freelance or full-time job offers. Open to students of design, architecture, engineering, or anyone with a bold idea.
  • Make us your school project Choose ATYP as your official university project partner. We provide guidance, real-world insight, and technical support, so you can make something that is more than a grade. It could be your first real product.
  • Build it solo, or with us Want full creative freedom? Use our platform, tools, and insight, and take the lead. Or team up with our product designers on every detail, from CAD to concept to the final visual.
  • Join the student network Get resources, design tools, creative briefs, and early access to prototyping. Join a Europe-wide network of makers shaping the spaces people will live in.

Why a workshop

Your idea meets real steel

Most student work ends as a render. Here it gets cut, bent, welded, and powder coated by the same hands that build everything we sell. You learn what a drawing becomes when it has to carry weight on a real wall.

How to apply

From sketch to shipped, in four steps

  1. 01

    Send your idea

A sketch, a CAD file, or three honest sentences. Email it through the contact page with a line about who you are and what you study.

  2. 02

    We review and reply

A real designer reads every submission. You get feasibility notes, material guidance, and a straight answer about what happens next.

  3. 03

    Prototype together

We turn the drawing into steel: dimensions, finish, mounting, and the details a render never shows. You stay the author the whole way.

  4. 04

    Launch, win, or get hired

Strong pieces can launch on atyp.store, enter our design calls, or open the door to freelance and full-time work in the studio.
